Designed for dancers of advanced and professional levels, age 11 to 21 years old. Due to a limited number of places, a selection will be made based on the applicant’s resumé and photographs. Applying for the course does not automatically guarantee a place: only applicants who receive a confirmation of acceptance will be admitted to the course.
How to apply?
You can apply for the Dutch National Summer School by filling out the digital application form. You will be asked to upload at least four photographs. These photographs should be full body shots showing:
- Portrait photo (for administrative purposes only)
- Tendu à la seconde (en face)
- First arabesque (en profil)
- Demi plié in first position (en profil)
- Another dance photo of your choice (optional)
The deadline for applications was on March 1st 2018. Applications for our 2018 edition are currently closed. Subscribe to our mailinglist to get notified when the applications for our 2019 edition open.
There is a non-refundable application fee of € 30 to cover administration costs. Applications, together with the € 30 registration fee, must be submitted to us by March 1st 2018 at the latest. Applications will be processed only after the application fee has been paid. Payment will take place online, after submitting the application. Due to a limited number of places available, candidates are advised to apply as soon as possible. Applicants will be notified by April 1st 2018 at the latest whether they have been admitted to the course or not.
It is only after receiving confirmation of acceptance that participants will be asked to pay the course fees. We offer three programs:
- Bournonville Week (15-21 years) (July 9-14, 2018)
Course fee: € 500,00
- Two-Week Intensive (15-21 years) (July 16-28, 2018)
Course fee: € 1.200,00
- Bournonville Week + Two-Week Intensive (15-21 years) (July 9-28, 2018)
Course fee: € 1.400,00
- 10-Day Intensive (11-14 years) (July 11-21, 2018)
Course fee: € 600,00
These fees include all dance classes, coaching and the final presentation. Not included are all drinks, food, personal expenses and accommodation. We do offer a Package Deal for participants of the course at Stayokay Amsterdam Zeeburg, our accommodation partner. The hostel offers a great stay for a fair price, and is situated close to the studios of Dutch National Opera & Ballet. Participants will be asked to pay a non-refundable deposit within two weeks after their acceptance.
Enrollment within the course is only assured after all course fees have been paid fully.

It is mandatory that the participant takes out personal health, travel and accident insurances. The administration cannot be held responsible for any damage or injury, however caused, to any person attending the course or third parties, nor for the loss or damage of any property, on or off the premises of the course or of the Stayokay hostel.
