Grigory Chicherin joined the National Ballet Academy as a classical and caractère teacher in 2001 and has been a Senior Teacher since 2011. He has also served as Coordinator of the System of Training between 2011 and 2013 and has been lecturing in the main ballet institutions of Holland.
Grigory Chicherin originally trained at the Vaganova Ballet Academy in St. Petersburg and danced the first five years of his career at the Kirov (Mariinsky) Ballet where he performed many soloist roles of the classical repertoire. He, then, joined the Dutch National Ballet from 1994 to 2005 where he expanded his repertoire with ballets of Balanchine, Robbins, Van Manen, Ashton, Massine, Lander, Van Dantzig, Van Schayk, Eagling, Pastor and Tharp.
In 2009 Grigory Chicherin received his University Bachelor Degree in Art of Ballet and Ballet Pedagogy from the Vaganova Ballet Academy. Since then, he has been a guest teacher with his former company the Kirov (Mariinsky) Ballet, the Dutch National Ballet, the Mariinsky International Festival, La Nuit des Etoiles Gala of Brussels, the Noureev & Friends Gala in Paris, the Ballet School Theater of Basel, Zurich Dance Academy of the University of the Arts and has participated in many courses and competitions around Europe, notably several times with the Youth America Grand Prix for which he served as jury member in 2014.
Grigory Chicherin is also a regular consultant in Method of Teaching Classical Dance for the faculty members of the Ballet Academy University of Music and Performing Arts of Munich.
